Interest vs. Complexity: What should you choose?

The mind-set that an arcane or immeasurably complicated topic would impress the professors at your University will actually fix you in a position with no possible path towards dissertation completion. Contrary to your thoughts, this will get you low scores and a bad repute as a postgraduate student. Instead, go for a topic that holds at least some interest to you. Subsequently, try to quest for a unique or undiscovered stream or topic of study from within the subject of your interest. You may also scan through resources for identifying an appropriate topic of research such as CQ Researcher, Social Science Research Network, Policy Files, etc.
