      Hi Members!
I’m currently in the second year of my Ph.D. research and am encountering a lot of issues with my supervisor. In the past few months, he has rejected all the manuscripts that I have sent to him. Each time he has told me to revise the entire manuscript, but without any worthwhile references or concrete suggestions for how to improve the research and laboratory work. When I brought this up with him, he told me that it is my job to figure out these things, not his.
And it is very difficult to schedule supervisory meetings with him as he is always caught up in academic commitments, and the ones that we have had in the past have been cursory and short. His behavior is affecting the pace and quality of my research considerably, I haven’t made any significant progress and am afraid that if this continues I might have to drop out of the Ph.D. program.

If you could tell us about the area of your research perhaps we could help you with resources or suggestions for your research. Also, if you are finding it absolutely impossible to work with your supervisor, you could write to the administration of your University/Institute about it, maybe they can allocate another supervisor for you or at least a co-supervisor who can spare time and assist you with your research.
